Looking into a stock

I just began high school and have joined my business and finance club. I am very interested in investing but unsure on how to use certain techniques of reading a stock. I know things like p/e etc but I'm looking for other tools, and learn to these use techniques.

How r/investing handles a newbie question vs r/stockmarket

We were all new to the market at one point.

I want to show you a post that is upvoted today on r/investing where I also mod:

Its your typical newbie question, he is looking for a starting point.

Notice how its not downvoted?

Notice how the feedback is constructive and friendly?

This is what we should strive to do here too!

If some kid comes along and asks what he can do with $200, downvoting him and sending him away sends a terrible message to all the other lurkers in this subreddit. http://ift.tt/1wELn1E

I humbly ask all the lurkers out there that have trading and investing knowledge, take the 2min to lend a helping hand!

It makes a world of difference if we can get just one new person to start off on the right foot!

Thank you and welcome to the first day of 2015!

Investing tip.

Hello people!

Starting off by saying that i am still in high school and am 17 years old, i would like to invest 200 euros that i received as christmas gifts in the stock market. I would like to, to better understand how it all works and i thought that with a direct responsability i would be more involved. Sooo do you think it is a wise move or only a waste of time and money?
