Hey hey!
Easy first day back for me with just one trade per my plan in ACRX long at $3.54-3.56. I am a little disappointed I held this ALL DAY until the last ten minutes and decided to finally can it cause I didn't wanna hold overnight and like 2 minutes later it popped up another 5 cents which is what I had been waiting for all day to take my profits and be happy enough to revisit it tomorrow, but what can ya do...I took a small gain on it and will revisit it tomorrow. Other than that CEMP was a pretty nice call as it worked well if you took the $36.30-40 entry on the morning pullback. I didn't take it since I wasn't totally convinced the volume would support a $37 breakout (which it didn't) so for me the reward to risk wasn't there without more volume. Overall though, headache free day and nice way to come back after a long break. My plans for tomorrow are pretty similar to last night as since I have restricted my criteria and my scans pretty heavily now I didn't find a ton of new stuff, but here are some ideas:
ACRX (long):
Really nice action all day today and a very strong close even though the volume was pretty light. It did pretty much what I expected it to: peek a bit over the $3.64 breakout and then consolidate all day for an end of day/early following morning run. I sold my $3.55ish buys at $3.60 since I didn't really want to swing overnight in this market environment, but I do plan to rebuy it. Basically same plan as yesterday but move all the ideas up 10 cents, lol. It had nice support all day at $3.58-3.60 so we can use that as a stop for any entry on morning strength. My goal is to get low $3.60s and keep the risk VERY tight since this is now right at the daily breakout level and has had two days of heavier volume than normal, so if it's gonna go it should just go. It's fine if it stays sideways for a bit but I won't hold onto this if it doesn't hold the $3.58 area. If it gaps up I will have to re-evaluate in the morning and see if it develops a trend, just buy any significant dips per my rules.
CPRX (long):
Nice bull flag on the daily that tried to break out today but failed. It did close pretty strong so I'll be watching for any pullback toward $4 and want to see it show support at $4 in order to get long for a run to $4.40-4.50. Entry at/around $4.00 can use $3.90ish as a stop.
I removed NBIX and DATE from the list below as NBIX broke the pattern and DATE already cracked. I'll update some of the others and add the new stuff I found:
HLF (long) - $52.50-$53.00 seems like a key level for this bull flag. Waiting for it to tighten up or show some volume expansion for breakout to $55+
OTEX (short) - Still holding that $42.20 area. Seems like pops toward $42.60-80 are safe to short if you want to anticipate the crack
LLY (short) - Still the same plan: not expecting this to hit my criteria in terms of percentage, but it may in terms of # of days, so likely want to play this as a late day fader 3pm+
ESI (short) - Still looking for either a parabolic push to $7+ or a late day fade after 3pm
REN (long) - Technically this is off my list because it didn't close red today but for anyone not as picky as me I still think this can bounce if it holds $1.15. Probably more of a swing stock than a day trade
FLWS (short) - Same plan: $9.50 is a key level. Watching to short pops if it cracks it or anticipate with entry $9.80-10.00 and swing it
DAR (long) - Nice bull flag forming but needs a few more days to tighten up. Just on my radar for now
CEMP (long) - Now on the back burner list. I think this needs more time and a better setup to break $37 but keeping it on watch
IMGN, SINA (short) - Both very nice runs today so I won't step in front of the train but I will be watching both for late day fades similar to LLY today. 3pm+ is my rule
ARO (long) - Kind of an annoying stock to trade but one more red day and it will meet my criteria for a parabolic long. Ideally we get a flush in the morning and then see subtle late day strength but still close red. If so, Wednesday it will be on my focus list
Hope y'all had a great day!
Chris
