Background info: For the past year or so I've been teaching myself about stocks and I've been using an app that simulates the stock market to play around with investment strategies. I'm looking to start investing actual money and because a lot of my practical learning has been through this app I've gotten used to being in 100% control of what I trade and when I trade it. So my questions are:
Via online trading is it possible to not have a broker involved? Like I said I like to be in 100% control of my stocks and I don't want a broker making deals for me.
Are the trades instantaneous or does it take time for a trade to be (for lack of a better term) "processed"? Sometimes I'll keep stocks for 15mins and sell when I've made a small profit. Obviously this strategy wouldn't work if there's a time difference between when I want to sell the stock and when the trade is "processed".
Note: Forgive me if these seem like novice questions. Just trying to get all the info I can before I start investing
