Stock market competition

My high school business class teacher has assigned us a stock market competition, where we will compete against each other with fake money to see who does best in the competition. However, he taught us nothing about the stock market so I have no clue what I am doing. The rules are as follows: 1. Ending ranks are based on portfolio dollar value 2. Out of 30 kids, #1 will receive a 100 test grade, and #30 a 70. 3. Each will start with 100k to invest 4. You may only have 20% of your portfolio in cash at any given time 5. When buying stocks, for each you must spend at least 10k but no more than 20k on each individual stock 6. You must make at least one trade each week 7. The game ends in two months. I am clueless as to how to even start, so any advice on where to learn, what resources to use, or advice on individual stocks to go for are welcome. I really need to finish top 5, as I need a 96 on this. Thanks guys!
