I haven't paid much attention to the market for a few years and was wondering about the huge volume increase. It looks like trading volume used to be around 500M as late as 2016, but now it is in the multiple billions. Is there a reason? Sorry if this post is poorly written, or doesn't belong, I just didn't understand why it increased so much.
