Selling stocks that gained for stocks that are currently losing

Hello, fellow investors!

In my portfolio I have a whole bunch of stocks that are in the red, and a few that are in the green, and I imagine that most of us are in that boat. Could it be a smart move to sell some of the 'winners' and invest the profit in the 'losers'? Especially now when the market seems to be in a down-trend? Realize some profit and get others at a discount? Spontainiously it seens to add up, so I would like some feedback on the idea.

Thanks

Best regards The-peppmeister
