Of all the companies that once dominated the personal computer market, Advanced Micro Devices has had one of the roughest rides toward the post-PC world.
This was underscored Friday as AMD AMD -17.29% shares plunged 18% to $3.77, after the chip-maker reported a disappointing outlook.
Bernstein Research analyst Stacy Rasgon called AMD’s second-quarter “absolutely woeful.”
