Hey guys, I've been wondering lately if investing on an IPO and then selling it when realizing gains, is a viable option to make money in the stock market game. And I'm not talking about buying any random stock at the opening price, because that would be taking a shot in the dark. For instance, Xbiotech launched about a week ago. I did some research and I liked the company's business plans and their involvement in the new biopharmaceutical industry. It opened at 17 a share, and three days later it was at 34 I believe. I made about 4,000 playing around with a stock trainer app but I'm not sure how often these opportunities appear. My inquiry revolves around these questions, to cut to the chase. How difficult is it to aquire an IPO a couple of hours after it launches? Is IPO flipping a viable method to make sizeable profits? How risky is investing in an IPO? Are IPOs more likely to trend downwards or upwards in their first month? Thanks!
