How will Netflix's 7:1 Split Effect it's Market Value?

I know that while the share price is going to be cut in 7 there are going to be 7 times as many shares. So, in theory, it's value should remain the same.

I'm new to the market and have no experience with this kind of move; so historically, what has a split like this done to a company's market value?
