Looking to learn more on investing in stocks

I've been recently thing about the stock market and making trades. Unfortunately this is something I'm not well versed in. What are some key things to do when looking to start research in stocks, how their traded, companies use for trading? Basically looking for stock market/ share trading for dummies. Any advice would be much appreciated
