Total noob here. I want to invest in the S&P 500 but I feel like a crash will likely happen in a year or 2.

I have $3,000 saved up & I would like to invest in S&P 500 but after a 30 minutes of research and looking at the history of the S&P 500 I think another crash is on the horizon. Would it be sense able to proceed anyway and invest?
