How did the markets perform during WW2, Vietnam, and the Gulf Wars?

As the title says, I'm curious for some reliable information from you guys and some differing opinions.

Which sector profited the most, which sectors nosedived and which sectors stayed static?

My boss is confident about investing in BAE Systems. I just want a little input and opinion from you good folks.
