Open for discussion is Twitter [TWTR] Stock, which has recently caught my eye as a possible hidden gem of sorts.
Considering the following:
-
Financials and User Base aside, Twitter, since Trump took office, Twitter has unquestionably become the number one talked about, mentioned, and quoted social media service on all major news outlets. Its impossible to watch CNN, MSNBC, etc, for more than 5 minutes without hearing the name Twitter, seeing actual tweets with the Twitter branding,
-
This due in large part to Trump’s 30,000+ tweets and growing... a presidential phenomenon which will no doubt continue throughout his term.
-
In light of recent natural disasters including the multiple hurricanes hitting the tropics, the quake in mexico, as well as the Las Vegas Tragedy, Twitter is hands down the fastest way to inject information into the indexed web, namely google... As Google’s indexing backbone is tied to Twitter’s post in near realtime... which no other social media platform can do. This means tweets about major events by trusted posters on Twitter can show up immediately in Google search results.
-
Just days ago Twitter announced they are testing 280 Character Tweets with select accounts, a move that clearly shows they are broadening their own views on how concise a message must be... and allowing users to include more information and links to outside sources.
-
While the company is not yet financially performing as it should, with the constant publicity on the news, the tie in with Google’s real time results, and the lengthening of the Tweet Length from 160 to 280 characters, I have been noticing far more “promoted/paid” tweets in my feeds. My consensus is companies are taking note, that people are engaging or viewing Twitter messages more frequently AND looking to Twitter as a real player in “Real Time” news dissemination.
-
MACD Lines on both a 1 month, 3 Month, and 6 Month all point to now being a possible tipping point for the stock, as it is still near all time lows since its IPO.
-
There has recently been a huge increase in Long Option Calls, including some very large out of the money Calls for 2018.
-
Disney yesterday revealed that it had considered buying Twitter. I would not be surprised if other major media companies are looking at Twitter at this moment considering it’s trading price as a time to buy. I think considering the media attention Twitter is now receiving its unlikely the stock will trend lower.
Thoughts, comments, opinions are welcome... Going Long on Twitter myself.
