what broker would you recommend?

I was looking into Schwab, or TDAmeritrade for investing and making use of extra analysis tools. Currently use rhood for zero commissions but, I would like to keep long term and large investments with a retail broker that will give me better analysis tools. I also plan on getting into index/mutual funds too at some point.
