How do Bond Yields Effect Stock Prices?

Can someone please explain to me like I’m five years old how bond yields have effected the stock market recently?

Bonds are seen as a better investment because they yield higher dividends so people move money from stocks to bonds?

What do bond yields have to do with inflation?

I think you can get pretty far in this world without having a thorough understanding of the bond market...
