Is it "common" to make profit through technical analysis in the medium term ?

Before start reading a ton of books about the stock market, I would like to know if its common to somebody who strongly learned (so i'm not talking about watching one video on yt and invest) to make profit with the stock market, thanks to technical analysis, without having to wait like 5/10 years ? Thanks !
