Going to invest my first £1000

I've been playing on etoro for about a month now (they give you 100k virtual cash to build a portfolio.

I know £1000 isn't very much but my question is, do I put it all into one company? I feel because its such a small amount of cash splitting it up over a few companies might not be a good idea. But I'm open to being told otherwise.

I will be adding at least 100 a month to it, should I use the additional cash to expand my portfolio?
