New to the market, need a few questions answered please

Let’s say i have 30,000 to buy stock with. Is it really as simple as paying the 8 bucks per trade, buying the 29992 amount of shares and then selling them and paying 8 bucks again when it makes a profit? I feel there are some kind of hidden fees or risk im missing here that seems way too easy. Basing the 8 bucks off of Schwab, 7.99/Trade
