Global Morning Highlights

  • Global stocks are positive again this morning as investor focus shifts to 2Q earnings which are expected to be the strongest in several quarters. 
  • US stocks index futures are advancing ahead of the NY open with Dow Jones minis +0.28%, S&P500 minis +0.22% and Nasdaq 100 minis +0.29%
  • The VIX is currently at 12.36
  • IWM OTM August 17 Puts, Lending Club (LC) OTM January 2019 OTM Puts and EWZ August 17 OTM Calls are the most heavily traded options contracts in the US pre-market
  • US 10-Year Yield little changed at 2.867%
  • Mixed economic data releases for the UK economy have traders betting that BoE will raise rates
  • The USD$ Index (DXY) is +0.32% with a weakening EUR€ (-0.37% to 1.1708) and JPY¥ (-0.37% to 111.26)
  • Global oil prices are rallying again this morning with WTI +0.54% to USD$74.23/bbl and Brent +1.28% to USD$79.06/bbl
    • expectations that US crude stockpiles will have contracted for the week ending July 6 (data released tomorrow)
