American Shorting a Stock on the London Stock Exchange?

I'm an American living in America, and I've found a company traded on the London Stock Exchange that I would like to short. Which broker could I go through in order to make that trade? All of the brokers I've communicated with have told me they couldn't make trades for an American because of tax complications.

If you bought SPY at the first second of regular trading hours every morning for the last 25 years, and sold each day just before close, you would be down 4.4%. Doing the reverse, you'd be up 571%.

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/02/02/your-money/stock-market-after-hours-trading.html

Check out the graph about halfway down in that article. It's revelatory.

If you had bought the SPY at the last second of trading on each business day since 1993 and sold at the market open the next day capturing all of the net after-hour gains your cumulative price gain would be 571 percent. On the other hand, if you had done the reverse, buying the E.T.F. at the first second of regular trading every morning at 9:30 a.m. and selling at the 4 p.m. close, you would be down 4.4 percent since 1993.

I had no idea of this fact and thought it was quite interesting.

Why is Microsoft's revenue not consistent on different quarterly reports?

So for their 2017 Q3 revenue on their newest quarterly report: https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/789019/000156459018009307/msft-10q_20180331.htm gives a different number to their original quarterly report on q3 2017 revenue. Here is the other link: https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/789019/000156459017007547/msft-10q_20170331.htm#SIGNATURE . Does anyone know why this is the case?

Looking for a broker that is easy to check borrow rates for short positions

Hio. I use TradeStation and whenever I want to check the borrow rate of a ticker symbol, I have to call a broker and talk to them on the phone. Most of my portfolio is short, and the rates change frequently so this is pretty annoying.

I'm looking for a broker that is upfront about the borrow rate (which can be huge on some symbols) in their web/trading interface, or, at the very worst, publishes a list that they keep updated. Or, at the very very worst, at least will answer these queries by email so I don't have to talk to a person.

I trade a lot of illiquid junk, so it's also helpful if they are often able to get locate on obscure symbols.

DJIA - historical data?

For research purposes, I need DJIA stats for the last hundred of years, from 1900 to now. When can one find it without paying for it? Google search brings either for the last ten years or pay-to-view options. Ideally, I'd like them in an Excel format. Thanks!
