Does buying one share of an S&P 500 etf affect the price of MSFT or does buying MSFT affect the price of the S&P 500 etf? Also, when I buy 1 shares of an etf, is that etf then purchasing 500 shares - 1 share of every company in the index? Confusing stuff. It's a wonder how everything across the market could be priced correctly at all times.
