Commercials claiming there's a way to "lock in gains and prevent all losses on the stock market" so everyone could make money........?

How you seen commercials like that? They promise there's a technique you have to follow and its guaranteed to make a lot of money. Anyone here ever tried it? Did it work or not and why?
