Is Predictit, (a political prediction market) any similar to real stock trading?

On Predictit, traders can buy and sell shares ranging from 1 cent to 99 cents based on the perceived likelihood of happening.. When a political bet wins, each share purchased is redeemed for $1 if it wins and 0 if it loses. Most loses are rarely total losses unless you dont have the time to sell your losing stock.. Theres all kinds of political markets to bet on. On Predictit, buying a share at specific price,if the asking price is too high, theres an option to bid so I could get it at a lower price later. A similar concept exists when selling a price. If I got a bought of Donald Trump for 20 cents and want to sell it for 40 cents. First a long line of betters below me has to sell their stocks. Since their prices are cheaper, they have the right to sell first. None of my stocks get sold until all the stocks below my target price are sold, then i have a chance of selling my Trump share for 40 cents..

How different or similar is this compared to real stocks on a stock market?
