How do I know if my stock picks have beaten the market average since I started investing a few months ago?

I started investing in multiple stocks with Robinhood on May 12th, 2016 and can see, since then, overall my returns are 2.6%+ as of today. (All stock picks combined)

Is there a way to also easily see how much the market has gone up (using one of the bench marks such as Dow Jones or S&P 500, I assume), have gone up or down since that exact date, of when I started investing on May 12th, 2016?

e.g. Let's say DJIA has increased 1.2% since May 12th, 2016 when I started, but I've increased 2.6% since that date with my picks - it's of course not an exact science, and I know it's very short-term, but wouldn't that shown me my stock picks have been better than the market average?
