Has the "January Effect" kicked in for stock selling?

As you may know, the January Effect is a seasonal increase in stock prices during the month of January when the mutual funds, hedge funds, money managers, etc. begin resetting their portfolios. This is attributed to an increase in buying, which follows the drop in price that typically happens in December when investors, engaging in tax-loss harvesting to offset realized capital gains, prompting a sell-off.
