Hi! Have a stock market question about margin trading!

OK so I invest with Ally (not bad) - and I was looking to trade today with the stock CHFS. Wanted to trade on margin, but was told I couldn't, as the stock was held at 100%.

"Your account does not have sufficient funds for this transaction. This may be a result of the security you are trying to purchase having higher than the normal Margin Requirements"

Could someone explain this to me?

Does it have to do with the brokerage firm I'm using, or the stock itself?

Are there some stocks you just can't buy on margin?

Sorry just a bit new to the margin thing, as I've never had a problem buying on margin.

OK thanks!
