So in a game with some of my friends, decided to be kind of a cheat and buy a stock about to reverse split because MarketWatch doesn’t divide shares and just increases price. This particular stock was $WLL (Whiting Petroleum). At the beginning of today, I was up a few hundred thousand, but now, the stock doesn’t appear to exist on MarketWatch and my gains have disappeared. However, the amount that I originally paid yesterday when I bought it is locked up and I cannot get rid of it. I admit this is probably “karma”, but I am curious about how/why this happened.
