How is margin interest calculated?

lets say i have 25k in a day trade account. this lets me borrow 75k for non leveraged stocks n funds

how much am i paying for this margin loan? fidelity says its base rate is about 7 percent. so for a single day, would that be 7 divided by 365 times 75000 = interest cost?

thats 1200 a day, hell of a lot of money. if my math is right (which it hardly ever is), could u tell me places with significantly lower margin rates? whats IB rates? i checked and of course found nothing. on this subject, it appears the brokers are intentionally vague.

thanks everyone
