Today, Oppenheimer raised their price target for VLO to $65 (from $60)
About a week ago, RBC Capital raised their VLO price target to $67 (from $62).
This is one of the things I said in my article six weeks ago when I raised my price target from $59 to $63 (which was also before the 45% dividend increase).
"It's worth noting that, at the time I offered my initial $44 price target for VLO [in 2013], the price targets from all research firms except one were in the $34-42 range. Similarly, at the time I updated my price target to $59, the price targets from most all research firms were in the low-to-mid $40s, and subsequently moved to the high-$60s and mid-$70s right around the time VLO topped in April. In other words, it's not unusual for analysts to be late on VLO, in both directions."
If you read the rest of the article, you'll understand the more important point here ... except for this guy or this guy ... if you're one of them, please don't read my articles ... none of them!
