I majored in science and got a bachelor of science. I am good at picking stocks, my portfolio is up 10% since the start of this year. I am self-taught in investing. I want to get an entry level finance job (in wealth management). I plan on getting a MBA degree once I gain some experience in the field. So far I have applied to various different entry level jobs (wealth management firm entry level positions). I am not having luck, haven't even made it to an interview. I think recruiters are just tossing my resume out of the stack. What is a tip from those who made it especially from a non-finance background? The reason I am going into finance is because it is something I enjoy, my parents wanted me to go into health care. For a long time, I was pressured and didn't have the courage to go against their wishes (they are immigrant parents so stricter than american parents). I finally have decided after working in health care for two years, it was definitively not for me and I can't do it until I retire. It was not fulfilling career for me. My mind is very much made up as I took a long time to come to a decision. I would very much appreciate your sound advice based on experiences. :)
