U.S. stock market on May 30, 2017: thoughts and outlook

  1. the "weak breadth" isn't a problem. in fact, other sectors like consumer discretionary are starting to pick up the slack.
  2. the S&P has grinded higher in 2017. when the S&P grinds higher, it tends to have a great year.
  3. ignore DAX's recent underperformance. focus on the U.S. stock market itself.
  4. interest rates don't have a lot of room left to fall, which means the finance sector (XLF) doesn't have a lot of room left to fall.
