I've recently started buying stocks and dipping my toe in the Stockmarket. And when I woke up today I read that the US has put up tariffs and in retaliation Canada, Mexico and the EU has put up tariffs aswell.
Does this make the stocks go up in short term but down longterm?
For example when I read about the steel tariffs I decided to google some US steel companies (I live in the EU so I'm not very read up on the US market) and noticed that a company, so aptly named United States Steel Corporation has started going up. Is this something that can be expected?
