Help A Brother Out On Margin Accounts - Spend All Cash, Never Use Margin?

I know that I should know this, but I don't...outside of the $2,000 minimum...could I spend the rest of my cash and never tap into margin? Say I have $100k cash in an account, could I spend $98k cash from that account and never touch margin? I use interactive brokers if that helps.
