DCA purchasing on Etrade?

I'd like to setup DCA purchasing on Etrade, but they dont let you buy any stocks you want on an automated schedule, only specific mutual funds. Does anyone know if there's a way around this or if there's a better platform to do that?

Can someone predict the approximative trajectory of the GBP currency for the next weeks/months for a foreigner's buying power?

Honestly don't know if I'm in the right sub, I'm looking for people well at ease in predicting currency variations, but for a very mundane reason.

I'm canadian, and was interrested for a very long time in a Scrarlbox subscription (monthly subscription for art supplies). That's a UK compagny, and until now the exchange rate really bloated the price. Not that Brexit's happening, I'm trying to see the positive in this event (by being opportunist), and I'm trying to see what's the better time to do my one-time payment for the subscription.

Can someone inform me, or show me in which sub I must post? Thanks!

Introducing The Timesinewave Analysis and beginning a (hopefully) ongoing conversation with all of you

Hello everyone!

We are a father-son team of technical analysts who have created a market navigation program which we think might be the only one of it's kind in the world.(We are not here to sell anything to any of you!)

This program allows the user to know, in real time, when a stock/index is reaching a top or bottom. I many cases, we can know that a reversal is coming before it even happens.

Before you say, "this is impossible," at least take a moment to check out our twitter page where we have been posting content lately. Check it out for our latest big money maker.

Soon, we will have our website up and running as well, though we are fairly new at this social outreach and daily content production thing. Basically, please bear with us as we go through some growing pains.

We hope to be able to have many interesting and productive conversations with you all, and look forward to hearing your feedback!

-The Timesinewave Analysis Team

P.S. This will be cross posted to a couple other investment-oriented subs, as we want to engage in discussions to further our knowledge of the investment arena. Currently, we are trading options via options house, btw.

Cobalt international energy

What's your opinion? They have a 12 month high of 10 dollars and currently trading at below 2. They are in the midst of shareholder litigation due to two oil wells that ended up being busts.

Huge upside, but obviously a little risky. They have opted to spend cash on hand for exploration, instead of investing in recurring income. But, with a positive net net working capital, and plenty of cash on hand, I think it's a good bet.

What do you think?

Come discuss the impact of the Brexit in real time.

Twitch.tv/thejers (stream live for the next 2-5 hours)

So it seems to me that gold industry stocks will rise, the dollar will increase in value, the natural resource industry will suffer and the value of the pound will be unstable in the short term.

I believe that natural resource stocks (specifically oil) may become undervalued from the over reaction to the Brexit. This idea comes from my belief that Britain will successfully re-negotiate a favorable trade agreement.

Share your thoughts on this in real time on my stream: twitch.tv/thejers (I will be live for the next 2-5 hours) or on this forum.

How much is still gone of the 3 trillion?

Naturally the news will pick the most 'interesting' piece of information to talk about, which lately has been the 3 trillion dollars lost. This was after the second drop on monday. However, after tuesdays gain, CNBC was still talking about the 3 trillion. Is anyone keeping score of what the 'loss' was after the bounce? When can we stop saying that 3 trillion is lost, and it just becomes a random fact that it was lost, and so happens to have been reduced.

Other stock markets outside the regular stock market. Do you explain what im trying to say?

theres the wall street stock market where you buy stock in companies. Then theres these other kind of stock markets that arent connected or have anything to do with the regular wall street stock market.

Im talking about sites like Predictit. Its a stock market on political futures similar to Intrade. Then theres others like the Hollywood stock exchange which is also a stock market not connected to the regular stock market where bets are made on how well celebrities do.

Are there any other stock markets that arent trading on companies like what I just mentioned?

What happens to the market after a terrorist attack?

I'd like to start off by saying I'm not asking because I'm looking to take a horrible event and gain from it financially; I'm just a student who is curious about the effects these attacks have on certain sectors of the market and the international market overall.

For example, the defense products/firearm industry skyrocketed for a while after the Orlando shooting that just happened due to people attempting to prepare & protect themselves from future attacks, and also because they feared gun control policy would make it harder to gain access to these firearms if legislation was passed.

Are there certain things that always tend to happen in regards to the market after a terrorist attack? Are they different for domestic attacks and international attacks? With Turkey's attack happening just an hour or so ago, what are some of the repercussions we will see in the market? Thanks in advance.

Interest in Solar Energy Firms.

I foresee the solar energy market increasing in the next decade, however the past decade hasn't been too kind too the renewable energy sector. Doing some research it's looking likely that the solar energy market will expand exponentially. Some stock that I've been interested in are SunPower (SPWR), 8point3 (CAFD) and SolarCity (SCTY). I'm pretty new to the stock market, all I have is long term investments that my parents set up for me (which are doing well) but I have saved up $1000 of my own which I want to invest, and figured with the market prices lower than usual due to Brexit maybe now is the time to buy. What are you thoughts on the solar energy market, and in particular these firms? Sorry if this is a shitpost I'll take it down if it receives negative attention.

What does it mean when your broker says my buy failed due to a liquidity problem ?

I woke up to Brexit luckily I had been smart enough to A) Move most of my money from Pounds sterling into the Dollar B) was very light on UK stocks. I saw Lloyds bank shares going for a song put in a fill or kill that just sat there cancelled that put in a buy at market rate that came back failed. Rang the broker and after half an hour waiting in a queue they said there was a liquidity problem. Is this the broker running out of funds or just my country (UK) running out of funds? Eventually got my shares but not after they had gone up considerably. Oh and don't blame me for the exit I voted the other way.

Is Predictit, (a political prediction market) any similar to real stock trading?

On Predictit, traders can buy and sell shares ranging from 1 cent to 99 cents based on the perceived likelihood of happening.. When a political bet wins, each share purchased is redeemed for $1 if it wins and 0 if it loses. Most loses are rarely total losses unless you dont have the time to sell your losing stock.. Theres all kinds of political markets to bet on. On Predictit, buying a share at specific price,if the asking price is too high, theres an option to bid so I could get it at a lower price later. A similar concept exists when selling a price. If I got a bought of Donald Trump for 20 cents and want to sell it for 40 cents. First a long line of betters below me has to sell their stocks. Since their prices are cheaper, they have the right to sell first. None of my stocks get sold until all the stocks below my target price are sold, then i have a chance of selling my Trump share for 40 cents..

How different or similar is this compared to real stocks on a stock market?

I'm very new to stocks. Got Robinhood a few months ago and bought some stock long term but haven't made any profits. I now have Robinhood Instant with about $40000, and I'm wondering what is the best way to do daytrades given the limitations of Robinhood? In particular, I'm looking to do really short trades (<30 min) in the morning if possible based on upwards trends. What software/stock chart programs would I need and what would be the best way of finding the most promising trending stocks?

My goal is to make, on average, a very small but consistent percent profit every day. Is there any good method of doing this?

How does one stay faithful to TSLA stock, if one loses faith on the prophet?

That's the problem here:

  • If the deal goes through, then selling TSLA because of the increased risk is the rational thing to do.

  • If the deal does not go through, such requires losing faith on the prophet - it requires the believers to vote against Elon Musk. If one loses faith on the prophet, there is no reason to hold TSLA either.

Early movers: HD, BBRY, BBBY, RHT, TWLO, GE, VRX

Home Depot — Nomura upgraded the home improvement retailer's stock to "buy" from "neutral," saying the company is gaining market share and competitive advantages, as well as benefiting from an improving overall market.

BlackBerry — BlackBerry posted a breakeven quarter, compared to consensus estimates of an eight cents per share loss, but revenue was well below forecasts. The company did give a full-year forecast that calls for a loss of 15 cents per share, smaller than consensus, and said it is on track for 30 percent growth in software and services.

Accenture — The consulting firm matched estimates with earnings of $1.41 per share for its third quarter, with revenue exceeding Street forecasts. It also raised its full-year earnings forecast, as margins expand and new bookings grow.

Valeant Pharmaceuticals — The drugmaker's stock was cut to "neutral" from "overweight" at JPMorgan Chase, which cites ongoing core product challenges.

Boeing — Morgan Stanley began coverage on Boeing with an "overweight" rating, citing significant margin expansion opportunity, as well as the stock's recent underperformance. Separately, CEO Dennis Muilenburg said demand for passenger jets is getting stronger, telling French newspaper Le Figaro that there will be demand for 38,000 new jets over the next 20 years.

Bed Bath & Beyond — The retailer reported quarterly profit of 80 cents per share, six cents a share below estimates. Revenue also missed the mark as comparable store sales fell by 0.5 percent during the quarter. However, the company did affirm its prior profit outlook for the full year.

Intuit — Goldman Sachs added the financial software maker to its "Conviction Buy" list, saying Intuit is doing a better job of retaining customers and due to increased confidence in subscriber growth for the company's QuickBooks Online service.

Twilio — Twilio will begin trading today on the New York Stock Exchange after pricing its initial public offering at $15 per share, above the expected range of $12 to $13 per share. The company is a provider of tools for app developers.

Red Hat — Red Hat earned an adjusted 50 cents per share for its latest quarter, matching Street estimates, with revenue also above forecasts. However, the distributor of Linux software gave a weaker-than-expected current-quarter outlook due to costs related to its newly announced acquisition of software provider 3scale. Red Hat also announced a $1 billion share repurchase program.

Barnes & Noble — Barnes & Noble said sales at existing stores should be flat to up one percent for the current fiscal year, as the bookstore operator moves to increase customer traffic. That's a better outlook than some analysts had been expecting.

Bank of America — The bank is near a settlement with the Securities and Exchange Commission in a case involving the safeguarding of client accounts, according to The Wall Street Journal. The paper said the settlement is expected to be in the range of $400 million to $450 million.

Royal Bank of Scotland — RBS has gotten a number of bids for its Greek shipping finance business, according to Reuters, in a possible sale that could be worth up to $3 billion.

Viacom — Ousted directors can remain on the board for now, according to a Delaware court judge's decision, until a final determination is made on controlling shareholder Sumner Redstone's mental competence. Redstone moved to replace five directors last week and his National Amusements petitioned the court to affirm the move, but those directors filed suit to invalidate the dismissals.

General Electric – GE reached an agreement to sell its French consumer credit unit, GE Money Bank, to private-equity firm Cerberus, pending approval by regulators.

Amazon.com — Amazon was fined $130,000 by the Federal Aviation Administration for allegedly mishandling shipments of dangerous chemicals.

EU Referendum: Exit Poll Leaker For BREXIT

The exit poll data costs 500,000 pounds. Many hedge funds have purchased the right to this information so they will be able to place large, semi-imformative bets before the polls are closed. I have a feeling most the movement will occur before the polls close unless we get an extremely split exit poll. So does anyone else think it's possible to get access to this information? If only we could crowd fund the 500k and we all could get access to the exit polls. I will post any findings on here. #ForThePeople

Oil Drop: Just The Start To Reaching $40 Target

The spot crude price action is playing out exactly how chart readers predicted. To understand this, you need to look at the chart and recent price action. Spot crude topped out around the $52 per barrel level. This was a psychological resistance point because it was a perfect 100% move from the $26/bbl lows in early 2016. Logically it makes sense this would be a top.

From that $52 level, oil fell sharply to $46. While only slightly over a 10% drop, this price action combined with the 100% price move up prior, claims a technical top by technicians. Let's also not forget how overbought crude oil was and how every analyst/market commentator was bullish at $52.

For those of you that do not know, when everyone is bullish on a stock, commodity, currency, ect, that is a dead on signal that the top is in.

Think about the bearish sentiment at $26 that turned out to be the bottom. It is always the opposite of the masses. Bottom line is, with a top at $52 and a pullback to $46, you would expect a buy the dip bounce. However, any bounce is a short sell as long as the $52 is not breached. Sure enough, price shot back to $50+ this morning only to talk on oil inventory numbers.

The next drop will take out the $46 recent low and extend itself another $6 to $40/bbl. Look for this to happen within a week or two.

Alcoa Inc Signals A 30% Move Coming!

Alcoa Inc (NYSE:AA) has been chopping sideways over the last month. This is coming after a sharp two week fall. Technical analysis tells us that this chart pattern is a bear flag formation. Bear flags on the charts are price consolidation that occur before the resumption of the previous move.

Since the previous move was sharp downside, this indicates that further downside is on the horizon. The downside target on this trade would be $6.75, marking a fall of over 30% from current levels. Note the chart below...

Seeking any advice on swing trades.

New to trading and really enjoying myself, and have only made money so far, but I feel I never sell at the right time. I sell and make a decent profit (10%), only to find if only I held for another two days I could have doubled my profit. So the next time I hold a little longer on a different trade and miss my opportunity, stuck with a trade I don't want for a month or longer, missing other opportunities (I'm limiting myself to 10K until I get better at this). I also have trouble selling if I missed a better return (keep waiting for the same profit or better). Are there signs I should look for that a stock isn't done gaining? I'm finding it hard to not look back and feel deep regret. (I'm looking to make quick cash here, not buy & hold.) Feel like I've screwed up every time. :/

My main question is, when i sell the stocks, will i be given American currency? Or will it swap to Canadian currency? Or can i keep that cash as USD? Which id rather do, as Id loose more money just by swapping currency. Im up 8% on my stocks over 1 weeks time. I guess i should call my bank and ask these questions, but as far as i know, there currently closed for the day.

Valeant Pharmaceuticals VRX

Everyone is still hating on Valeant with their Bearish smack. Yeah let's be honest it hasn't been easy these past months. But let's have a bullish outlook on Allergan... yeah guess what heads. They're $42.7 Billion Dollars in Debt, way more than Valeant. And they have less cash on hand. Specifically, Valeant's has $1.4 Billion in cash and $30.9 billion in debt, a 21.46 ratio, but Allergan only has $1.1 billion in cash and $42.7 Billion in debt, a ratio of 38.5. Now let's remind ourselves Pfizer offered 160 Billion to buyout Allergan out.

Trigger - Create rules to track the market, IFTTT for the stock market

Hey Reddit! Co-founder and CEO of Trigger here. I'm curious of what you all think of Trigger, a product we created and released yesterday. Check it out here http://ift.tt/1UlTsYr

Trigger is simplifying the world of stock investing by reducing everything to an “IF THIS, THEN THAT” statement, called a ‘trigger’. You can create triggers to track all sorts of things happening in the market -- for example, if a stock drops suddenly, or if Apple announces earnings at a certain level, or if the Fed is raising interest rates. You can use Trigger to be notified (in real-time) when important events affecting your portfolio occur, and in the future, can execute automated trades through our platform.

We currently integrate with 8 different brokerages (including eTrade, Fidelity, and TDAmeritrade) for account read-access. We hope to expand this list in the future (looking at you, Robinhood!).

Our mission is to help the individual investor take a more disciplined, rules-based approach to managing their portfolio. Please help us deliver on that promise by giving us your feedback!

Crypto breaking news: Ethereum hacked, $50M stolen

For those of you that dont follow crypto too closely, Ethereum has emerged as a big challenger to bitcoin in recent months.

It all looked pretty solid until this morning.

To be clear, Ethereum itself was not hacked, but rather the smart contract DOA which uses Ethereum.

Pastebin from Vitalik Buterin

CRITICAL UPDATE Re: DAO Vulnerability

Posted by Vitalik Buterin on June 17th, 2016.

An attack has been found and exploited in the DAO, and the attacker is currently in the process of draining the ether contained in the DAO into a child DAO. The attack is a recursive calling vulnerability, where an attacker called the “split” function, and then calls the split function recursively inside of the split, thereby collecting ether many times over in a single transaction.

The leaked ether is in a child DAO at http://ift.tt/1Yx0dt7; even if no action is taken, the attacker will not be able to withdraw any ether at least for another ~27 days (the creation window for the child DAO). This is an issue that affects the DAO specifically; Ethereum itself is perfectly safe.

The development community is proposing a soft fork, (with NO ROLLBACK; no transactions or blocks will be “reversed”) which will make any transactions that make any calls/callcodes/delegatecalls that execute code with code hash 0x7278d050619a624f84f51987149ddb439cdaadfba5966f7cfaea7ad44340a4ba (ie. the DAO and children) lead to the transaction (not just the call, the transaction) being invalid, starting from block 1760000 (precise block number subject to change up until the point the code is released), preventing the ether from being withdrawn by the attacker past the 27-day window. This will later be followed up by a hard fork which will give token holders the ability to recover their ether.

Miners and mining pools should resume allowing transactions as normal, wait for the soft fork code and stand ready to download and run it if they agree with this path forward for the Ethereum ecosystem. DAO token holders and ethereum users should sit tight and remain calm. Exchanges should feel safe in resuming trading ETH.

Contract authors should take care to (1) be very careful about recursive call bugs, and listen to advice from the Ethereum contract programming community that will likely be forthcoming in the next week on mitigating such bugs, and (2) avoid creating contracts that contain more than ~$10m worth of value, with the exception of sub-token contracts and other systems whose value is itself defined by social consensus outside of the Ethereum platform, and which can be easily “hard forked” via community consensus if a bug emerges (eg. MKR), at least until the community gains more experience with bug mitigation and/or better tools are developed.

Developers, cryptographers and computer scientists should note that any high-level tools (including IDEs, formal verification, debuggers, symbolic execution) that make it easy to write safe smart contracts on Ethereum are prime candidates for DevGrants, Blockchain Labs grants and String’s autonomous finance grants.

This post will continue to be updated.

I've just joined the clean-up crew and I've got some big ideas ready to implement here. What you see now will be completely different in a few weeks and this sub will hopefully spring to life as everything is taken care of (one of these things is the awful CSS template).

Recently there's been a culling of "users" (bots and foreign spammers) that have a track-record of submitting useless and shit content. Though I haven't gotten all of them, only the most recent ones, this sub needs your help (see: reports) to keep it clean. Most times you can spot these fake accounts by their large Link-to-comment karma (exceptionally large link karma, but almost no comment karma) or their nonsensical and hard to read writing (most likely a bot or a foreign account booster). If you see anything that you suspect as spam, do report it. Reporting takes around 2 seconds and a big yellow "Reports: # [Reason]" shows up next to the thread (and if applicable, comment). If everyone does this, the sub's quality will instantly be improved.

Submitting links has been disabled (re-enabling will be discussed) because it's majorly used by bots and has no real upside to instead paste the link in a regular text post. Content guidelines are going to be drawn up and enforced to keep good content creators in, and shit ones out. The sidebar will be redone, the theme will be changed, more mods will be added, and a system to distinguish experts from novices (as well as good posts and bad) will be enacted. But my ideas are my own, if you have any that you think would help improve this sub, do share. Input from the community is always welcome and helpful to streamlining this whole process.

Stick around,

Moddymando

Tl;dr - Sub's getting an overhaul, expect good things to come. Use the fucking report button on spam, because it's everywhere. If you have suggestions post them.

Screaming Buy Alert: Whole Foods Market, Inc.

Whole Foods Market, Inc. (NASDAQ:WFM) had an epic run higher from $28.00 to $35.50 from May 2016 to June 2016. Since the start of June, the stock has pulled back, falling to a current price of $31.25. There is huge support here for a big bounce higher, maybe even another big leg higher. The reasoning?

  1. The Whole Foods Market has fallen six days in a row, meaning it is extremely oversold.
  2. The stock has slammed into the daily 50 and 200 moving averages. This is huge support.
  3. The Whole Foods is into its 61.8% Fibonacci level which is another huge support, technical level.

All in all, this stock will likely see a 10% bounce in the coming days. Note the chart below for details.

Americans, do you care at all about DAX, DJ UK or Nikkei?

When the Swedish stock market opens you pretty much know whether it's going to rise or fall depending on last night's development of the NY stock exchange. At 15.30, when the NY stock exchange opens again Swedish time, you can almost be certain the prices will jump depending on what's happening on your market.

I'm wondering if the US investor collective care at all about what's happening on the overseas markets. We've had some pretty big falls during the last few days in Europe, but the NYSE doesn't seem to be very afflicted by this.

Using Technical Analysis, When Should You Take Profits When There's No Overhead Resistance?

What are some technical analysis techniques for setting an exit when there's no recent overhead resistance?

For example, imagine a break out to a higher price than has been seen in four years. How would you decide when to get out? What technical factors would you take into consideration? Would you look at past spikes to try to gauge where the top may be? Would you look at the resistance from four years ago? Would you start scaling out at the first dip and/or a second confirming dip?

Thanks in advance for any input

$BIDU cuts Q2 revenue view to $2.807B-$2.823B from $3.119B-$3.192B

$BIDU is going to test $130 in coming days.. toast.. 25-30% of revenues come from shady medical sector... writing has been on the wall : http://ift.tt/1WFjVSD

Baidu currently expects estimated second quarter 2016 revenue to be in the range of RMB18.100 billion ($2.807 billion) to RMB18.200 billion ($2.823 billion)[1], compared to the previously stated range of RMB20.110 billion ($3.119 billion) to RMB20.580 billion ($3.192 billion).

Since the beginning of May 2016, Baidu has taken steps to implement measures requested by regulatory authorities, such as modifying paid search practices. Baidu has also proactively implemented numerous additional measures to deliver a better user experience and build a safer and more trustworthy platform for users, including turning down customers who do not meet Baidu's new requirements, creating an industry-leading customer credibility ranking system and weighing customer credibility more highly in the ranking algorithm, reducing the number of sponsored links, and making upgrades to Baidu's user feedback system and user protection programs, to name but a few. These measures enhance user experience and the Company observed solid user traffic.

The revenue guidance revision was mainly attributable to the following factors:

First, regulatory authorities continue to review the online marketing practices of medical, pharmaceutical, healthcare and other similar businesses, and have also implemented stricter advertising regulations for medical organizations. The review is being rolled out with varied timing with different levels of implementation and interpretation across geographies. While the review is underway, the Company has observed a reduction or delay in spend from a significant portion of medical customers. These customers may be in the process of receiving instruction from regulatory authorities, gathering and submitting required documentation and adjusting their practices to comply with new regulations.

The implementation of and compliance with new regulations could take place over a prolonged period of time. The Company notes that high quality medical customers who have reduced or delayed spend would likely be compliant with new regulations over time. As such, the Company expects spend from these customers to recover gradually.

Second, the Company has reduced the number of sponsored links across the platform. This measure impacts revenue over the short term but enhances user experience and will drive benefit to Baidu over the long term.

"Baidu provides a strong, unique value proposition to its users and customers by helping users find whatever it is they are looking for, and connecting online marketers with those users. This role comes with great social responsibility and user experience is our top priority," said Robin Li, Baidu's chairman and chief executive officer. "Although a significant portion of our revenue is sacrificed, the steps we have taken to further bolster a healthy, safe and trustworthy online and offline ecosystem will result in long term benefit and reward for Baidu."

Baidu believes higher standards related to customer requirements, sponsored links, user feedback and user protection mechanisms, will help improve the user experience, strengthen Baidu's market position and benefit the Company over the long term.

Conference Call Information

Baidu's management will hold an earnings conference call at 7:30 PM on June 13, 2016, U.S. Eastern Time (7:30 AM on June 14, 2016, Beijing/Hong Kong Time).

WOW MAJOR FDA UPDATE FROM BIOELECTRONICS CORP STOCK SYMBOL(BIEL)

Release #:812-160919-rl-1195620:

BioElectronics Update

BioElectronics Company Update – June 8, 2016 U.S. FDA Meeting On May 24, 2016, we met with FDA reviewer for our ActiPatch device, key management from the Physical Medicine and Neurotherapeutic Devices Branch, senior leadership from the Division of Neurological and Physical Medicine Devices, and a Regulatory Advisor, Office of Device Evaluation.

BioElectronics Attendees:

Richard Staelin, PhD, Chairman of Board, PhD in Statistics, University of Michigan; Andrew Whelan, President; Ian Rawe Ph.D., Biophysics, Open University, Faculty, Harvard Med School, 2000-2010, Director of Clinical Research; Kenneth McLeod, PhD in Electrical Engineering, MIT, Post Doctorial Fellowship, Tufts Medical School, Director – Clinical Science and Engineering Research Center, New York State University, Binghamton; and Attorneys from Goodwin Procter LLP

Dr. McLeod explained ActiPatch’s mechanism of action and presented physiological test results that illustrated how ActiPatch’s nerve modulation negates centralized pain. Dr. Staelin presented the published musculoskeletal pain reduction data from the Plantar Fasciitis, Post-surgical Acute Pain, and the Osteoarthritis of the Knee studies along with data analyses that followed FDA recommendations. He also reviewed our Customer Assessments of 11,250 users showing the effectiveness and safety of the device without a healthcare practitioner’s involvement.

The FDA’s position is that the ActiPatch has a new intended use because we are requesting over-the-counter (nonprescription) status for the device and this would involve a different patient population compared to our predicate device. The Agency’s concern is the ability of the patients to determine the origin of the pain without a physician being present. Therefore, the agency representatives stated, the de novo classification pathway would be more appropriate for the ActiPatch than the 510(k) premarket notification review process. Dr. McLeod stated that the risk situation would be no different from that of a person taking Pepto-Bismol for an upset stomach when the underlying condition is really appendicitis. He added that Pepto-Bismol, and other products, can be sold OTC because they have labeling regarding discontinuance if there is no relief within a specified time. Users know whether they get relief from the product and will see a physician if the condition persists. Mr. Whelan added that there are much riskier devices, e.g., TENS devices and heat wraps that are sold without a prescription. Dr. Staelin pointed out that our customer assessment data show that consumers discontinue using the product if it does not provide pain reduction.

Our attorneys responded that: OTC switches have been done for over 30 years in the context of 510(k) submissions and that the 510(k) pathway is appropriate and available; There is no new intended use; instead, there is a new indication and the Company can support an OTC switch by submitting information showing that the product, when sold without a prescription, is as safe and effective as the prescription predicate; and, Any concerns regarding a difference in patient population can be addressed through labeling.

The meeting ended upon the FDA’s management committing to review the information and slides presented during the meeting, and to address the two regulatory issues: (1) the regulatory pathway (510(k) premarket notification or de novo submission) and, (2) the applicable timeframe. On June 8, an FDA representative notified company counsel that the agency believes that the 510(k) pathway may be available for the ActiPatch device, the agency staff is reviewing the company’s data, and the agency would be back to the company shortly with its pathway determination and advice regarding whether additional information is necessary.

Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE:GS) Breakdown Signals Financial Collapse

Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE:GS) has broken a head and shoulder neckline. Head and shoulder patterns are bearish and when the neckline is breached, a large drop is at hand. The whole financial sector looks extremely weak and head and shoulder patterns are everywhere.

Citigroup (NYSE:C) is another great example but has yet to cross its neckline. The neckline is the trigger for the epic downside move to target. With so many horrid chart setups in the financial stocks, it is likely something big is on the horizon that will cause a quick, sharp decline to target. Goldman Sachs downside target which is calculated precisely, is well below $140.00. Look for sharp declines in the coming weeks on all financial stocks.

$ODP

I invested in ODP (Office Depot Inc) a about 2 weeks ago near the low point of the current drop. I kinda expected it to rise up semi quickly because I do value the company higher than it's current price. But, this stock has under-performed my expectations day-after-day. I am trying to make this into a learning opportunity instead of a profit now.

Do you believe that this stock will rally within the next month or is it doomed to fall even further? What is keeping this stock so low and close to historic supports two years back?
