It is said that the market is falling due to low oil prices. As low gas prices should help thousands of companies make more money, why is it hitting the markets so hard?

You would think that any company that uses transportation or oil would have good earnings reports. Yes I understand that this isn't the only thing affecting the market. But this seems to be what the pundits say.
