I'm 16 and looking to get into value investing to generate substantial returns (with risks of course). I have ~5k available to me. I've read up on what ratios and other information on stocks are, and what they mean, but at this point, I just don't know how to look for a stock to invest in. What I mean by that, is how do I find a stock and say, "Oh I believe this stock will rise based on x, y, and z". How do I approach this? After studying how the market works, and what everything means, I feel clueless as to what to invest in and how I would know.
Sorry for the long post and probably stupid question, I really appreciate all help.
P.S How do I know when to sell?
