In the News Today (Nov 15th 2018)

November 15th 2018

FB
NYTimes released a major feature story in which it described the mayhem of Facebook's Russia problem and the efforts it took for damage control.  You can read the NY times report here: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/14/technology/facebook-data-russia-election-racism.html and FB's response here: https://newsroom.fb.com/news/2018/11/new-york-times-update/

OIl & Nat Gas
Nat Gas retraced pretty much its entire massive move yesterday. Let's see if this was a one-off or high-volatility becomes the new normal.

KBH
KB Homes warned that its fourth quarter results will be worse than expected due to reduced demand from Texas and the California wild fires. I think the shocking thing here is Texas, which in past surveys has been home to 3 of the fastest growing cities in the country.

POST
POST Holdings will IPO its Active Nutrition business. POST is the cereal brand company and its market cap as of today a $6bn. http://globenewswire.com/news-release/2018/11/15/1652749/0/en/Post-Holdings-Announces-Intent-to-Pursue-IPO-of-its-Active-Nutrition-Business.html?f=22&fvtc=2&fvtv=1

China Southern/AAL
China Southern Airlines will leave SkyTeam airline alliance to join OneWorld. American Airlines (AAL) spent $200mm for a minority steak in China Southern, but apparently they were not getting much value because AAL is part of OneWorld. The leaving of SkyTeam could mean China Southern joins OneWorld and AAL could benefit? https://www.reuters.com/article/us-china-southernair-skyteam/china-southern-to-quit-skyteam-strengthen-american-partnership-idUSKCN1NK0ZS
